About CITE
The Coalition of Infant/Toddler Educators (CITE) is an all volunteer, non-profit organization that was founded in 1985 to support the emerging need for professional development and support of infant/toddler teachers and administrators who provide infant/toddler programs. CITE’s mission is “to provide quality infant and toddler care and education by building collaborations; providing professional development opportunities, support and resources; and by influencing public policy.” Our vision is that “high quality early care and education is available to every infant and toddler in the state of New Jersey through a coordinated system of early childhood and family support programs that offer healthy, social/emotional learning environments and educated, responsive caregivers.”
CITE has been instrumental in the creation of many of the infant/toddler initiatives that the state has implemented in recent years, including the New Jersey Infant/Toddler Credential, which is administered in partnership with Professional Impact NJ (PINJ), to educate infant/toddler professionals and paraprofessionals in center-based and family child care programs.
