ACNJ, along with parents and child care providers, met with Senator Bob Menendez last week for a roundtable discussion on why affordable, high-quality child care matters. Child care is in crisis, and has been long before the pandemic. Between soaring costs, lack of availability, staff shortages and more, the industry has been operating on razor-thin margins and is in danger of collapsing.
Now, Senator Menendez wants to hear from you as he crafts federal legislation to help the industry and parents! Right now, he is working to pass legislation to ensure any family making under $213,000 in New Jersey will pay no more than 7% of their income on child care – saving a typical New Jersey family as much as $27,000. Send him a tweet on why affordable #childcare matters, and let him know how you would #ReimagineChildCare on the federal level. Make sure you tag @ACNJForKids and use the hashtag #WOTYC22
